Introduction

This comprehensive course is meticulously designed to prepare students for success in the dynamic global business landscape. Course Structure

The Higher Diploma in Global Business Management (E-Learning) course comprises of eight units of study.

The units are as follows:

The aim of this unit is to explain the basic accounting concepts that assist sound decisionmaking in any company and serve as the foundation for financial operations. A variety of financial and management accounting strategies will be studied in depth both theoretically and practically by the students.

This unit aims to have a thorough understanding of business and how to manage innovation for commercialization. Students will have learned how  innovation is supported, tapped into, and managed in organisations. They will gain knowledge about the benefits of innovation and how crucial it is to fostering economic expansion. Additionally, they will learn things that will help them become more creative and innovative, which will help them throughout their careers.

This unit emphasises the fundamentals of an online store, processing customer orders, and utilising third-party service providers. Learners will learn how to manage an e-commerce operation and execute the lean method for order fulfilment through real-world case studies.

The aim of this unit is to examine various firms’ broader positions in the global environment.
The complexity of working in a global setting will become clearer to students, giving them insight into the actual or desired worldwide presence of a business.

This aim of this unit focuses on management marketing and seeks to provide students with a solid understanding of marketing concepts and applications, as well as a good awareness of the fundamental principles of marketing. The relationship between the marketing concept and other concepts like innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as the tools and methods used to examine marketing environments, understand consumer and organisational buying behaviour, segment markets and position products, develop new products, manage existing products, and promote, price, and place products, will all be covered in this unit. Students will also look at the roles that marketing management plays within organisations.

This unit aims to increase knowledge and understanding of how organisational behaviour concepts, theories, and approaches can be applied in  work and management settings in order to improve individual, team, and organisational performance. This knowledge will be useful to students in a variety of professional settings. The learner will recognise the value of applying organisational behaviour principles to explain why people behave and act in specific ways as well as to forecast how employees will react to specific requests. The course also deepens students’ awareness of how politics, power, and culture interact in organisations and how they affect people’s actions and behaviours within that environment.

The various HR service delivery models that are available to modern organisations, how they are evolving, and the role that effective and efficient HR service delivery plays in facilitating and supporting sustained organisational performance are all things that human resources (HR) professionals need to  understand. This includes concerns relating to the usage of shared services, partners, and external providers, as well as setting and monitoring service standards, measuring performance, and other related matters. Furthermore, professionals need to recognise the significance of occupational health and safety regulations and be able to establish a secure workplace.

The aim of this unit is to give students the chance to do ongoing research in a particular area of study. Students can demonstrate their ability to establish a research theme, create research goals and objectives, and present the findings of such study in both written and oral formats by completing this unit.

Upon completion of the course, the student is expected to:

  • Discover and apply the business and management skills, knowledge, and insights needed to achieve high performance in the global business world.
  • Lead, manage, respond to change, and handle a variety of complicated business circumstances across multiple business departments.
  • Demonstrate understanding of strategies for managing marketing, financial, human and production resources in a global environment.
  • Acquire the knowledge and techniques widely used in the management of innovation and entrepreneurship and synthesize practical skills in their application for commercialising innovations.
  • Apply analytical skills and practical tools, including digital tools that are pertinent to administration and management tasks, to manage and improve the global business.
  • Identify the essential elements and effects of emerging digital technologies on the business environment.
  • Analyse existing theories, methods, and interpretations and solve practical and professional problems  independently or as a team; and utilise pertinent techniques for research work and in the development of professional work.

Age Requirement

  • at least 17 years old

Academic Requirement

  • At least Grade E in any two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level subjects or equivalent qualifications.


English Requirement

Students with equivalent foreign qualifications may be admitted provided they are proficient in the English Language, and possess

  • IELTS 5.5 or equivalent qualifications OR
  • A C6 Grade in GCE “O” Level – English Language OR
  • Where applicable, the English Placement Test will be administered, a Pass of which will be required.

Those who fail to meet the English Requirement will be required to successfully complete the EAP/ESL (Lower Intermediate) course conducted by college.
