‘Aluth Avuradda’ also known as Sinhalese New Year, is a holiday celebrated by the Sinhalese people in Sri Lanka. Staff and students of Beacon gathered together on 11th April to celebrate this joyous event. We had amazing game sessions and Mr & Mrs Beacon competition where lecturers, staff and students were able to interact with each other. As any event wouldn’t be complete without food, a variety of Sinhalese traditional food was served to all.
We would like to wish those who celebrate this festival a blissful Sinhalese New Year.
