Do not work illegally as a Student’s Pass holder

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has taken enforcement actions against Student’s Pass holders for working illegally at hotels, restaurants, and logistics warehouses in recent months.

Please note that you are not allowed to work in Singapore unless you have a valid work pass.

Working without a valid work pass is an offence under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act. It is also a breach of the Terms and Conditions of your Student’s Pass.If convicted, you may face a fine of up to $20,000, or imprisonment of up to two years, or both. You may be permanently barred from working in Singapore. Your Student’s Pass may also be cancelled by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

MOM will continue to step up checks and enforcement action will be taken against individuals who fail to comply.
