Bright and Blissful Deepavali!

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is the biggest festival celebrated by Indians all around the world.
The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to signify the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. It symbolises the spiritual “victory over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.”
Staff and students of Beacon gathered on 31st October to celebrate this joyous event. We were honoured to have Ms Chua (Director Business Development & Marketing) and Ms Jo Deans (Partner Manager) from Cardiff Metropolitan University in UK to join us in this festive celebration. The event started off with a speech given by Ms Chua. We had traditional singing and dancing performances showcased by our enthusiastic students and staff. Mr. Gerald also took the chance to share his Diwali experience in Malaysia. Awards and certificates were handed out to students for best singing & dancing, traditional dress and Rangoli design. On top of that, students and staff also enjoyed Henna done by our students. Any event wouldn’t be complete without food! We ended the event with delicious Indian vegetarian buffet for all.
We would like to wish all, a bright and blissful Deepavali!
