Academic Awards (In-house Programmes)

This section outlines the academic awards and grading criteria for Beacon International College’s in-house programmes. It provides details on the certification process, the grading scale, and the recognition of outstanding academic achievements. The information herein is applicable solely to certificates awarded by Beacon International College

Certification

Candidates who successfully complete the required credits/units of the programme will be awarded a Certificate / Diploma / Higher Diploma / Advanced Diploma (where applicable).

  • Students are required to achieve a minimum attendance rate of 75% to be eligible for the award.
  • Students are encouraged to work towards achieving Distinction / Merit Overall Course (Qualification) Grade and/ or Top Student Award (applicable for courses award by Beacon). Academic recognition is provided to such students if he/she has not infringed the College disciplinary rules and regulations during their course of study.

Academic Awards (University Partner Programmes)

For students enrolled in programmes offered in collaboration with our partner institutions (e.g., Cardiff Metropolitan University/University of East London/University of West London/Pearson), please note that different award criteria may apply.

Students are encouraged to refer to the respective partner institutions’ official regulations and academic handbooks, or consult their Programme Coordinator for specific details relating to academic awards, classifications, progression requirements, and eligibility criteria for their respective programmes.

In addition, Beacon’s Student Support Services team is available to assist students in accessing the relevant information and resources for their specific programme of study.

Certification

Students are required to achieve a minimum attendance rate of 75% in order to be eligible for certification and/or academic awards, subject to the respective programme and partner institution requirements.
